VALOREM joins forces with the ETRE Network, the Ecological Transition Schools, to train young people in the energy transition professions
At the ENERGAIA Forum in Montpellier, the VALOREM Group, an independent renewable energy operator for 30 years, is announcing the signing of a partnership with the ETRE Network, the leading network of Ecological Transition Schools. This collaboration marks a key stage in our shared commitment to training young people who have left the school system without any qualifications for careers in the ecological transition.
Training and supporting young people in the professions of the future
Every year in France, more than 100,000 young people leave school without a qualification, while the ecological transition will create up to one million jobs by 2050 (according to ADEME), which requires massive training, particularly in manual and technical occupations. The ETRE network, a pioneer in training in renewable energies, eco-construction, sustainable agriculture and cycle repair, offers these young people a concrete alternative and outlets in promising professions. The partnership signed with VALOREM will increase this impact tenfold through financial support, donations of equipment such as photovoltaic panels, and immersive initiatives such as visits to wind and solar farms or discovery work placements at Valorem for the young people trained by the 25 ETRE schools. These initiatives will help to make learners aware of the opportunities in the renewable energy sector and support them in their professional integration.
For VALOREM, this partnership is also a response to recruitment challenges in a rapidly expanding sector. Technical occupations, particularly in installation, maintenance and operation, are in high demand, and needs are set to increase further with the boom in offshore wind power and energy storage projects. These occupations represent unique opportunities for young people, who will have access to skilled, sustainable jobs in line with the new environmental and economic challenges. This partnership is also part of a wider ambition to strengthen the renewable energies value chain by integrating talent from a wide range of backgrounds.
A social and economic commitment for VALOREM
A company with a mission since 2021, VALOREM’s actions are part of an ambitious approach to corporate social responsibility. This partnership with the ETRE Network is part of an overall strategy that combines social inclusion, regional development and contribution to environmental objectives. In addition, VALOREM promotes professional integration through social clauses integrated into all its worksites, mobilising all players in order to create concrete local employment opportunities. Since 2017, this approach has enabled 169 people far from employment to accumulate 37,485 hours of skilled work, testifying to a direct and measurable impact on local communities.
Looking beyond the figures, VALOREM intends to play a leading role in diversifying and mixing the profiles integrated into the renewable energy sector. By working with schools such as those in the ETRE Network, the company is acting on two fronts: meeting the skills needs of a strategic sector and offering career prospects to young people who are often left on the sidelines. This commitment goes hand in hand with its mission to decarbonise and reindustrialise, thereby contributing to a more inclusive, sustainable and socially responsible economic model.
At VALOREM, we see a particularly strong need for maintenance technicians, but the renewable energies sector also offers a very wide range of jobs because of the many phases involved in a wind farm project: development, construction, operation and maintenance. To date, we are offering 3 fixed-term contracts and 15 permanent contracts, not to mention the 15 internship opportunities in our various branches in France! This partnership with the ETRE network is an opportunity for us to work together to train people on the path to professional integration and offer them real prospects for the future.
This partnership with Valorem is a real opportunity for the young people we support in the 25 Ecoles de la Transition Ecologique – ETRE. The young people we train are the builders of the ecological transition. By investing in their training, we are investing in the future of our regions, by giving them the skills to meet the environmental and economic challenges of tomorrow.
This partnership with VALOREM underlines the relevance of our training courses in meeting the crucial recruitment challenges in the key sectors of the ecological transition. It’s an innovative initiative that brings young people on the path to integration closer to the companies involved, by building bridges to the jobs of the future.
